Description

Robert Half is seeking a solid Senior Accountant in the Cedar Rapids area to manage the expense accounting operations. The successful candidate will supervise and monitor all day-to-day expense accounting activities. This role will have a significant impact on financial operations, helping to maximize cash flow while maintaining and improving internal and external relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, monitor, and evaluate all day-to-day expense accounting activities

• Develop strategies to maximize cash flow

• Maintain and improve internal and external customer relationships

• Contribute to the day-to-day operations on all issues related to the expense function

• Provide analysis on financial data and generate reports as needed

• Create written processes for expense accounting operations

• Train others in implementing a cross-functional expense team

• Prepare financial reporting and analysis

• Prepare journal entries and manage month-end close activities

• Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations.

Requirements

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks

• Experience with Month End Close activities and procedures

• Familiarity with ERP software

• Ability to perform Monthly Journal Entries and Month-end Journal Entries

• Experience with Year-end Close procedures

• Familiarity with Month-end Close Activities and Financial Audits

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organization skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

• Detail-oriented with high standards for accuracy and precision

• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines

• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
