Aerotek Maintenance Mechanic in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Now Hiring Industrial Maintenance Mechanics! (2nd and 3rd shift)

Job Description

  • Ensure production machinery is functioning correctly and efficiently. Perform preventative maintenance on all machinery. Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, compressor, and vacuum systems. Have a working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers, AC/DC motors, and controls. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Assemble, install, and fabricate equipment as needed (welding will be required). Ability to work with steam and boiler controls and mechanical power drives. Assist support staff to ensure inventory counts are accurate. Submit timely and accurate paperwork. Participate in Safety Reviews, Safety Training, and Safety Audits under the direction of plant management. Willingness to participate in a maintenance training program that is provided and required.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Work Environment

There are 6 people on the maintenance team right now, they would like to get to 12. The company as a whole has around 120 people. Dress code: jeans, steel-toed boots, t-shirt. The company will provide the rest of the PPE. Shifts: 2nd shift - 3pm to 11pm (M-F), 3rd shift - 11pm to 7am (Sun-Th). 30 cent shift differential for both 2nd and 3rd shifts. This is a fairly clean environment since they are just making boxes. However, it is not air-conditioned. It will get hot in the summer and cold in the winter, so you must be okay with non-regulated temperatures.Now
