Dry Grind Maintenance Planner - Cedar Rapids, IA

Summary:

The Maintenance Planner position is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work for the Dry Grind facility. This includes both preventative and corrective maintenance work scheduling. The role will have accountability for the ordering and kitting of parts for jobs and ensuring work orders / job plans encompass the needs for each job. The Maintenance Planner will work with the other Dry Grind team members to hit target Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Specific Job Duties

  • Responsible for the application of asset management strategies within the plant, with the goal of providing reliable processes to the business

  • Utilize CMMS software to ensure proper documentation and tracking of compliance driven initiatives

  • Planning and scheduling required to ensure efficient execution of Maintenance and Reliability practices/programs/processes, proactive maintenance and repair, best practice application and Continuous Improvement strategies.

  • Learn and understand plant priorities to be able to schedule work orders based on plant needs and resource allocation for the upcoming week’s schedule

  • Ability to problem solve and align multiple work orders that can be planned and worked on together to optimize utilization of resources and/or minimize plant downtime impact

  • Creation of job plans that allow for effective and safe execution of preventative and predictive maintenance

  • Create schedules for work timeline execution, including large annual plant shutdowns

  • Resourcefulness to source and acquire parts required for work order execution in a timely and efficient manner, aligning with the scheduled work

  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance tasks or services.

  • Track and report maintenance key performance indicators to display effectiveness of maintenance programs

  • Edit work orders to ensure accuracy, standardization, billing/payments, proper support documentation, timeframe, assigning contract resources, and updating as needed

  • All other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite programs as well as experience working in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

  • Training and experience in industrial, electrical, instrumentation, and or/mechanical applications

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals

  • Excellent ability to communicate through means of verbal and written communication at various levels of the organization

  • Ability to work as an individual contributor who can work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to problem-solve

Environment

  • Primarily Monday – Friday, but available for operations outside of standard working hours

  • Stand for long periods of time

  • Lift 50 lbs

  • Carry ladders and tools

  • Climb ladders / stairs

  • Walk long distances
