VERIDIAN CREDIT UNION Manager of Facilities in Cedar Falls, Iowa

The Manager of Facilities is responsible for managing the design, planning, and maintenance of Veridian equipment, machinery, buildings and grounds. The position plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor materials and other related costs. This position is responsible for the physical security of all Veridian facilities. The Facilities Manager ensures each Veridian facility is properly maintained, clean, safe and efficient.

  • Create excellent service experiences that promote the Veridian brand.
  • Manage the design, planning and maintenance of both current and future Veridian locations. This includes long-range planning, annual budget preparation, and management of all physical requirements for successful operation at all locations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify potential physical locations that support Veridian's long-term future. Communicate with appropriate personnel and external resources throughout the process via various channels of communication (written and verbal).
  • Partner with external and internal resources to research and recommend new and improved workspace options. This includes furniture, lighting, interior design, etc.
  • Manage and oversee service contracts, lease agreements (in partnership with the CFO), etc. with vendor partners, landlords, and the like.
  • Recommend maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility modifications in partnership with applicable team members.
  • Forecast, allocate, and supervise the financial and physical resources of the facilities.
  • Ensure facilities meet government regulations, health and security standards and energy efficiency requirements.
  • Responsible for the physical security of all Veridian facilities.
  • Research, recommend and implement security devices in partnership with Technology Services and IT Security. Develop operational policies and methods to implement new systems and initiate changes with employees.
  • Work with the Facilities Coordinator to recruit and train on-call security personnel and other pertinent employees.
  • Provide assistance to police, fire and other emergency personnel relating to alarm situations, both during and after hours.
  • Responsible for physical facilities in the event of a disaster.
  • On call availability required for facility related needs (includes nights and weekends, 24/7).
  • Prepare proposals and special projects at the request of management or on own initiative.
  • Act in absence of the Vice President of Information Technology on matters concerning established support service procedures.
  • Work in conjunction with the Management Team on special projects, including research, preparation and distribution reports and follow-up.
  • Conduct departmental reviews on a periodic basis, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes when appropriate.
  • Knowledge of all policies, procedures, laws and regulations affecting the operation of the department and applicable credit union-wide systems.
  • Maintain optimum staffing levels to ensure high quality of member service and department efficiency.
  • Provide on-going coaching to all team members that encourages personal, professional and career development. Clearly define expectations of all team members.
  • Interview and hire the most qualified applicant for position openings. Provide initial orientation and on-going support to team members on the mission, vision, values and leadership culture of the organization.
  • Plan and prepare for the future by being open minded, perceptive, and proactive. Make decisions that support the members, the department and the organization as a whole both financially and strategically.
