USOR Grant Coordinator

 

The USOR (Utah State Office of Rehabilitation) Grant Coordinator creates and manages all aspects of the USOR grant program and the supporting pre-ETS (Employment Transition Services) including the DRC (Disability Resource Center) peer mentoring program, pre-internship professional development and summer semester work-based learning opportunities. This position depends on continuation of grant funding every 3 years.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Hiring, training and supervising a team of SUU student staff peer mentors. Monitoring weekly mentor documentation for mentee progress.

• Developing resources utilized for peer mentor meetings that focus on academic success (study skills) and career readiness (resumes, interview skills, etc.).

• Serves as a liaison between the DRC, SUU's Career Center, community businesses and contacts across the state of Utah to develop and oversee summer internship positions for qualifying students.

• Creating and implementing individualized professional development content to pre-internship students.

• Create, manage and forecast the annual grant budget. Data entry/file management, tracking, reporting and invoicing for all aspects of USOR grant and affiliated programs and services.

• Conducts individual and group sessions to inform possible grant and DRC students of services, policies, and procedures; discuss their disability; and identify and provide reasonable accommodations at the institution to ensure equal opportunities according to ADA law and guidelines.

• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

• Bachelor's degree in education, business or management fields.

• Budgeting, financial forecasting and fiscal record keeping of large-scale projects or programs.

• Experience developing and implementing educational content and materials.

• Must possess organizational ability to respond accurately to multiple project requirements on a frequent basis.

• Professional development and career or job readiness skill ability.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with a diverse group of individuals, ensuring confidentiality.

• Knowledge of Google, Microsoft and data tracking systems.

• Excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling ability to compose professional communication and correct errors.
