Events & Marketing Coordinator
The Events & Marketing Coordinator will assist students and alumni in their career development by planning, marketing, facilitating, and executing career fairs and other career-related events and initiatives sponsored by the Career & Professional Development Center (Career Center) with on- and off-campus entities. Additionally, the Events & Marketing Coordinator will help develop and effectively carry out a marketing plan to increase general awareness of the Career & Professional Development Center (Career Center) and the services offered by the department. A small percentage of time will be spent coaching students on professional development topics such as resumes/cover letters, job search strategies, LinkedIn profiles, interview prep, and career and major exploration.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Organize career fairs and other events.
• Coordinate marketing & communications efforts for events, services, products, etc. (includes press outreach, media relations, and content creation).
• Manage the events and marketing budgets.
• Collect, analyze, and report data from marketing campaigns and event strategies.
• Additional Duties
• Collaborate with campus partners to share resources (cohorts, Marketing Communication, Alumni Relations, Scheduling, etc.).
• Relationship building with colleagues at other institutions to coordinate state-wide events and conferences.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field (Event Planning, Marketing, Public Relations, etc.)
• Experience in event planning, administrative services, or hospitality, with documented experience in functions listed above as well as demonstrating teamwork, high volume activity, detailed follow-up, and technology use.
• Experience in marketing, public relations, or communication strategies and campaigns with documented experience in functions listed above.
• Highly organized.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
• Ability to collaborate with various constituencies (e.g., team members, employers, students).
• Able to carefully and effectively follow policies, practices, systems, and procedures for employer engagement.
• Able to effectively follow up, track and measure desired outcomes, and produce regular reporting and/or tasks as needed.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use social networking tools.
• Proficient with technology, including software applicat ions such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Engaged learning attitude.
• Team-minded, supportive, contributive approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Collaboration with staff, faculty, alumni employers, and other regional employer relations counterparts.
• Ability to professionally provide insights and recommendations.
• Proficient with client relationship management software system (e.g., Handshake); produce reports, utilize processes/systems.
• Experience using graphic design software, such as Canva, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Ability to multitask while being adaptable.
• High public relations abilities to represent SUU to internal and external constituencies.
