AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

As a Head of Business Development working with Amazon Web Services, you will have the exciting opportunity to help promote the growth and shape the future of an emerging technology.

The ideal candidate will possess outstanding business acumen and both business development and technical background that enables the candidate to engage at a very strategic CXO level as well as with software developers, IT infrastructure, software designers and architects. The candidate must also be a self-starter who is prepared to develop and execute detailed territory and go-to-market plans and can manage many diverse engagements.

Key job responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of our Business Development organization, helping to drive overall AWS Enterprise Adoption in Hong Kong

  • Contributing to strategy, program development, investments, channel development, case study development and other important efforts to make AWS the best fit for our customer needs;

  • Develop and execute against a comprehensive territory plan;

  • Create and articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services related to Enterprise;

  • Influence (or impact) customer adoption, through consultative selling, thought leadership and executive relationship development;

  • Work with partners to extend reach & drive adoption;

  • Possess the technical ability to explain (not implement) Cloud Computing, infrastructure solutions (Server, Storage, Networking, DC Services) & Internet architectures (firewalls, load balancers, etc) and Management Tools;

  • Maintain and deliver results against a set of defined business targets

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of technology related sales, business development or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of sales management experience

  • Experience in management of large, complex enterprise accounts or equivalent

  • BA/BS degree required

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills in Chinese and English

  • Extensive customer & executive contact network within Hong Kong local conglomerates and enterprises

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent

  • A technical background in engineering, computer science/MIS or equivalent work experience would be a plus
