Kraemer North America, LLC Grading Earthwork Foreman (Union Position) in Castle Rock, Colorado

Kraemer North America is currently looking for a Grading Earthwork Foreman to join our Mountain West Region. This is an hourly union role. The Grading Earthwork Foreman will manage a crew specializing in subgrade prep and dirt work. The ideal candidate will have experience with site layout, grading/earthwork, and punch list completion. This field-based position will work closely with the entire project team including clients, engineers, estimators/project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors.

Responsibilities

Ensure crew maintains professional relations with Owner, Engineer, and other members of the team Oversee crew to ensure project is constructed according to the approved plans and within the project schedule Prior to commencing work activities, develop and execute an effective plan in cooperation with the Superintendent for their area of responsibility and determine the means and methods necessary (including individual work activities) to meet project goals Assure the proper operation and maintenance of equipment under their control, including appropriate applications for the respective equipment Preplan and schedule grading activities daily Ensure all employees comply with company safety procedures; immediately correct and document any unsafe conditions Recognize and immediately report any requests for extra work Complete administrative tasks: daily electronic time sheet entries, equipment logs, progress photos Prepare or assist the Superintendent in the preparation of daily reports, work unit quantity reports, equipment reports, and receipt of materials Perform material take-offs; read and interpret plans, specifications and survey grade stakes Assure quality control and contract compliance of grading activity under their supervision Schedule testing and inspections as required to maintain workflow Provide leadership and direction to crews while emphasizing safety, quality, and production Attend construction progress meetings and scheduling meetings Conduct daily meetings with crews to review schedule, production goals, and safety and get feedback from employees Train and motivate employees Supervise the work of others and clearly communicate instructions Ensure all field personnel are using proper PPE Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent Working knowledge of applicable standards, specifications, codes, regulations, and laws Minimum 5 years' experience with highway construction Minimum 3 years' experience as a Grading Foreman Experienced on all types of heavy equipment for dirt and site projects Knowledgeable in the areas of dirt work, including excavation, grade work, surveying, and final excavating work Ability to read and understand plans and specifications, and interpret survey grade stakes Working knowledge of OSHA regulations Experience with Global Positioning System (GPS) Must have a valid driver's license and meet Fleet Policy requirements Ability to use good judgement and be an effective decision maker Benefits

Union employees subject to collective bargaining agreements have benefit coverage provided to them under the provisions of their respective agreements.

Hiring Range: $32.00 - $37.00/hour. Base wage is related to local union rates.
