The Senior Engineering Technician provides expert, technical support services in a lab/manufacturing environment by performing a combination of routine and non-routine duties involving varying in complexity wherein the understanding, selection and use of procedures and/or equipment in support of medical diagnostic instrument, automation systems and/or reagent development and production is critical to success.
What You’ll Work On
The Senior Engineering Technician s erves as the primary point of contact of technical support/ maintenance of instrument up-time in a lab and/or manufacturing environment.
Perform moderately complex electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, developmental or test duties in manufacturing, testing, engineering, maintenance, etc. where judgment and initiative are required to solve problems and make recommendations. Performs both routine and non-routine assignments.
Provide compliance oversight in a laboratory, manufacturing, and/or other environments through approvals and technical functions in support of lab engineering activities.
Pull and review maintenance and instrument service logs.
Monitor and track current and completed Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) performed on instruments.
Track part inventory, supplies and consumables by department or supporting department. Creates Work Order (WO) request for lab issues and ensures concerns are addressed or fixed.
Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of various departmental lab processes with ability to work on most instruments.
Research, recommend, and implement appropriate changes for product and process improvements.
You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications
Associate degree (± 13 years)
Minimum 7 years of related technical or industry specific experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s (Electrical or Technical) degree is preferred
Experience with databases used to monitor and maintain the lab and lab equipment (i.e.- Maximo, CMSNext, Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs), Lotus Notes, etc.)

The base pay for this position is $29.35 – $58.75 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
