Robert Half Accounting Clerk in Casa Grande, Arizona

Description

We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to assist our client on a contract basis! This role is fully on-site located in Casa Grande, Arizona.

Part-time position: Monday-Friday 11am-4:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service through email, telephone, and in-person interactions, communicating in a courteous, effective, and professional manner.

• Apply the knowledge of city code and relevant statutes relating to utility services, business, and animal licenses.

• Accurately and efficiently process payments from walk-in customers, drop box, and mail.

• Reconcile and process payment uploads including e-lockbox, lockbox, auto draft, automated clearing house, and online credit card payments.

• Maintain control and security over assigned cash drawers; reconcile and balance amounts tendered, close and post cash and payment batches, and prepare consolidated deposits according to established policies and procedures.

• Assist in the preparation and disbursement of Department change requests as needed.

• Process adjustments and write-offs up to an authorized amount, and refer other requests to the appropriate party.

• Accept new applications for sewer, sanitation, water, and business licenses; review for accuracy and completeness; ensure supporting documentation is obtained and collect deposits and fees as appropriate.

• Receive address, account, service change, and payment arrangement requests, ensure information is complete and accurate, process or forward to the appropriate party.

• Assist with collections of severely delinquent accounts, including making contact with customers and drafting payment arrangements.

• Perform administrative tasks including opening, sorting, and distributing Finance Department mail; maintaining and ordering office supplies; assisting with the management of file storage and production areas; maintaining workspaces, front desk, and lobby areas.

Requirements

• Experience with administrative office tasks, including filing, answering phones, and managing correspondence

• Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy

• Familiarity with standard accounting procedures and principles

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and trustworthiness with handling confidential financial information.
