Jacobs Digital Design CAD Technician - Aviation in Cary, North Carolina

Based out of our Cary, North Carolina office, we are seeking a motivated Digital Design CAD Technician who will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of large-scale aviation design projects working closely with Engineers and other disciplines to complete full design assignments. You will work alongside a multidiscipline team focused on airport design and construction on projects right here in North Carolina, with opportunities to reach out and work with other design teams nationwide!
When you join us, you’ll be responsible for the following:
Development and review of orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings.
Work under the supervision of senior staff to assist drafting design efforts for military and commercial airfields including, but not limited to, such disciplines as earthwork, pavements, and drainage.
Display strong communication and interpersonal skills and be willing to work in a fast-paced consulting environment with multiple deadlines
Provide support in the overall management of construction drawings for projects.
Attend project meetings both virtually and in-person.
This is a hybrid role. Ideally, you will work from a local Jacobs office on average 2 days per week. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, or a closely related field and
2+ years of civil engineering CAD experience in the preparation of plans and contract drawings
In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of professional civil engineering CAD experience will be considered
Proficiency with AutoCAD Design Software
Experience using Microsoft Office, and PDF management software (Adobe, Bluebeam, etc.)
Ideally, you’ll also have:
Have a passion for the field of aviation and desire to build familiarity with FAA standards, specifications, orders, and Airport best practices
Experience with ProjectWise and/or Autodesk Construction Cloud
Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D
