SUMMARY: The Teaching Assistant possesses and displays the experience, ability, personality and energy to meet the everyday demands of students, curriculum, department, school and district. The Teaching Assistant will provide group and individual instruction as prescribed by the teacher.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Provides instructional services to individual or small groups of students under the direct supervision of appropriate teacher and/or administrative personnel.
Assists teacher in the development and preparation of instructional materials.
Maintains appropriate records of students under the direction of appropriate teacher and/or administrative personnel.
Assists teachers in related instructional work as required.
Assists teachers in administering assessments.
Assists students in the use of available instructional resources.
Utilizes own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs.
Follows classroom management as directed by teacher.
Assists with related instructional work as required.
Provides supervision of students both in and outside of the classroom in accordance with building and district expectations.
Reports to school on time.
Maintains confidentiality.
Adheres to and enforces CCSD Code of Conduct.
Participates, when appropriate, in continuous professional growth and development related to the field of teaching and/or specific area(s) as assigned.
Attends required meetings and follows district policies, procedures and rules.
Maintains positive, cooperative and mutually supportive relationships with students, staff, caregivers, colleagues, district personnel and community.
Uses excellent written and oral English skills when communicating with students, staff, caregivers and community.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises classroom and students. OTHER: Performs related duties as required or assigned.
