LEGGETT & PLATT, INCORPORATED Supply Chain Director of Sourcing in Carthage, Missouri

We, at Leggett and Platt Inc., are searching for a Supply Chain Director of Sourcing within our Beddingteam to help support our Adjustable Bedbusiness. As a Supply Chain Director of Sourcing, you will have the opportunity to provide leadership and oversight for the direct materials for our multi-site organization. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by leading and managing the sourcing team responsible for creating sourcing strategies that include expanding our supply base geographically, multi-sourcing, removing barriers and obstacles, ensuring timely execution of sourcing plans, and reporting of savings that meet or exceed goals defined by the business. The team you will be working with is collaborative, close knit, and values challenging work and diversity of thought.

So, what will you be doing as a Supply Chain Director of Sourcing?

  • Lead team of sourcing professionals to strategic outcomes and savings delivery
  • Responsible for development, implementation, and communication of global sourcing strategies to ensure standard approach across all commodities.
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, conducting negotiations to secure advantageous terms and ensure the continuity of supply.
  • Interact with product management/sales to ensure new parts are sourced and available in time for purchasing requirements.
  • Work closely with the Director of Supply Chain - Planning and Procurement on product needs.
  • Conduct in-depth cost analyses and set benchmarks for quality and cost, employing a data-driven approach to track savings and efficiencies gained.
  • Understand geographical country sourcing into our multi-site manufacturing locations
  • Monitor global market trends, identifying impacts on supply and demand, and adjusting strategies to leverage market conditions.
  • Drive the evaluation and selection of new suppliers based on thorough criteria for quality, value, and reliability.

To be successful in this role, youll need:

  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing a team and fostering professional development.
  • Proven negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Strong project management abilities, capable of leading cross-functional initiatives and driving change.
  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to effectively coach, motivate, empower, develop, and evaluate employees.
  • 5-10 Years Experience in a sourcing role in the manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelors degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field

Things we consider a plus:

  • Experience with a variety of commodities, including electronics and steel sourcing.
