Job Overview:
The Coordinator Clinical recommends short and long range programs and plans, policies and procedures to obtain objectives, develops and trains licensed physical therapists and their assistants in preparation for supervision of student affiliates, and provides medically prescribed treatment to patients.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelors degree, Masters, or DPT degree or certificate in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university
Certifications and Licenses Required:
- Current license from the NJ State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners
Scheduling Requirements:
Shift working, 8am-4:30pm; 11:30am-8pm
2 evening shifts per week required

Essential Functions:
Determine jointly with the Rehabilitation Services Director, RWJ PT Manager, the hospital Coordinator for Clinical Education and contracted colleges and universities the objectives and organization of the RWJ Physical Therapy clinical education program
Work with the hospital Coordinator for Clinical Education to insure consistency of standards for in-service and continuing education
Maintain or provide for the maintenance of records and reports pertaining to clinical education at RWJ Physical Therapy
Assist and update Clinical Center Information Forms for contracted colleges and universities
Coordinate student affiliations
Schedule in-service training
Coordinate and insure completion of all mandatory hospital and department education and competencies
Complete or provide for completion of all applicable forms, lists and education records
Present in-service education as requested following attendance of continuing education courses and on areas of expertise or interest
Contribute to hospital and community education within scope of knowledge as requested
Perform the duties of a physical therapist including ongoing evaluation and assessment, goal and care planning and provision of treatment
Retain responsibility of the physical therapy care of the patient being treated by the physical therapist assistant through direct supervision
Complete written or computerized documentation in the medical record as pertains to patient's status
Complete all other forms, documents and letters as necessary
Participate on committees and meetings as assigned
Maintain knowledge of current laws and standards of practice as relates to physical therapy
