Southland Industries Engineering Intern in Carrollton, Texas
POSITION SUMMARY
This internship is designed to introduce candidates to a career as a mechanical, electrical, or plumbing designer. Interns will assist Brandt engineers and fellow interns on assigned tasks as required.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Complete the competency checklist of assigned responsibilities such as running HVAC load calculations, creating electrical models, producing AGI32 lighting calculations, and gaining basic Revit modeling proficiency.
Under your mentor’s guidance, develop and complete three SMART goals that align with the job responsibilities.
Get exposure to departments such as engineering, commissioning, virtual design, and construction.
Collaborate with fellow interns on a capstone project and present results to key stakeholders.
Attend required internship program events, jobsite tours, and training.
Communicate with team members, intern program lead, mentor, and other departments as needed.
Present achievements and knowledge learned to departmental leads and executive leadership at the summer’s conclusion.
Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.
What you’ll need to be successful:
Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
0-3 years of experience in a related field.
Punctuality and reliability are a must.
Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and excellent communication skills are all essential to this position.
What you bring to the table:
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, civil engineering, or a related degree.
Entering sophomore, junior, or senior year of applicable degree.
