Workers will perform a variety of duties including seed packaging, package sorting, boxing packets, loading trucks, unloading boxes, counting corn plants, and related field and facility tasks. Supervisors will assign work duties each day and provide training. Procedures are expected to be followed precisely each day. Moderate English-speaking skills required for understanding changing instructions.

Matching count list to seed and packet -

Carefully match count list with counting instructions to seed and to the packet prior to packaging seed.

Filling Small Seed Packets

• Use machine to fill packets with seed that is provided

Cleaning Equipment

• Carefully remove all seed from equipment before changing seed

Sorting by Number patterns

• Sort packets based on location, range and rows, following proper procedure.

Scan Barcodes -

Scan barcodes in the planter boxes

Lift and carry up to 40 lbs. -

In and around seed lab, to trucks/vans and storage facility

Move Boxes -

In and around seed lab, to trucks/vans and storage facility

Staking Fields -

Following the planter placing a stake where theres a mark

Stand Counts -

Walking through the field and documenting number the plants that grew

Field Tasks -

Cleaning tools, equipment, vehicles, facilities, data collection as needed, assisting with grounds maintenance.
