Tuscola Behavioral Health Systems Family Services Clinician (Children's Social Worker) in Caro, Michigan

Tuscola Behavioral Health Systems (TBHS) has been providing services within Tuscola County since 1974. As the Community Mental Health Agency within Tuscola County, we are here to provide services to children with severe emotional disorders, adults with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual/developmental disorders.

  • This job is located in Caro, Michigan.
  • Full-time position - 40 hours/wk. (Must be willing to work non-traditional hours; flexible schedule (i.e. 4-10's)
  • Salary Range: $27.59/hr. - $35.38/hr. - based on licensure status (limited vs. full licensure)
  • *$10,000.00 sign-on bonus available *(If eligible, first payment at 6 months; second payment at 12 months)

Requirements:

  • Full or limited Michigan licensure as a Master's Social Worker preferred (or related Master's degree in a human service field with applicable licensure will be considered) and meets Child Mental Health Professional qualifications as defined in the Medicaid Provider Manual.
  • Must have at least one year of clinical experience in providing treatment to children and their families.
  • Knowledge of mental illness, severe emotional disturbances, and developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Strong collaboration/coordination/advocacy skills desirable.
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance are required.
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours; flexible schedule (i.e. 4-10's).

Responsibilities:

  • Provides intense home-based services to children and their families with multiple service needs who require access to an array of mental health services.
  • Focus will be on the family as a unit to promote health family functioning and reduce the need for psychiatric hospitalization.
  • Provides individual, group and family therapy, and case management services.
  • Provides effective crisis intervention services including timely documentation completion and clinical evaluations of assigned crisis situations, per clinical guidelines.
  • Coordinates services with community resources.
  • Serves as a member of the Intensive Crisis Stabilization Team.
  • Position requires travel (agency vehicle available).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and actively supports culturally competent, recovery-based practices.
