MISO Energy System Operator II, III (Day Ahead) - DAY SHIFT wSHIFT PAY in Carmel, Indiana

Position Location: Carmel, IN

As our Day Ahead Operator II, III , you will play a key role in ensuring reliable and efficient Day-Ahead market results for one of the largest energy markets in the world. Our team takes on the role of clearing 95% of MWs cleared in the MISO market. The MISO market has a total of $40 Billion in energy transactions annually while serving 45 million people. We are dedicated to driving process and tool improvements to keep up with a changing regulatory landscape and prepare for Operations of the Future.

As a Day Ahead Operator II, III, you will be part of a high-functioning close-knit team responsible for ensuring the Day Ahead Market results in efficient and reliable outcomes. The Day Ahead team operates 365 days a year working rotating 10-hour shifts; however, this team does not work overnight shifts. As our Day Ahead Operator II, III, you will manage the Day Ahead market process from case creation to identification of constraints, constraint limit setting, congestion management, and Day Ahead case and market approval.

In one year as a Day Ahead Operator II, III, will know you were successful if you completed training for the role, are able to understand how Day Ahead Operator decisions directly affect market efficiency and reliability, and have develop knowledge and ability to collaborate and coordinate with other functions within the control room to ensure success.

We are looking for someone who can be tactical while not losing sight of the bigger picture, someone that exemplifies MISO’s core values and can help cultivate a positive and productive team environment where team members can thrive and grow.

Additionally, we are also looking for you to have:

  • At least two years of electric utility industry or RTO experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR six years of equivalent work experience

The appropriate level will be determined based on experience and knowledge.
