The Cook III performs complex technical food service productiontasks and is responsible for preparing, cooking, portioning,distributing and serving food of for regular and modified food diets andtextures. This position provides guidance, training and oversight tosubordinates and is integral to both quality of life and safety ofresidents. SSLC management has identified the need to establish thisposition as a benchmark audit as part of the ongoing effort to establishbetter consistency in the classification, compensation, duties, andresponsibilities of positions. Furthermore, it will provide the optionto quickly create and/or reclassify cook positions to this benchmark,which may assist in filling currently vacant cook positions and willprovide an additional resource for training and guiding the work ofkitchen staff.Essential Job FunctionsAttends work on a regular andpredictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performsother duties as assigned.Prepares, seasons, cooks and assembles food forregular and modified diets using proper equipment and utensils and in amanner that ensures sanitary conditions. Prepares and portions food forspecial diets and modified textures following food service procedures inorder to meet guidelines set forth by doctor's orders. Prepare scheduledsnacks and supplements. Maintains a supply of snack items. FollowsCentral Kitchen Operation Manual Procedures and ensures others followproper food handling in accordance with food service procedures, stateand federal guidelines. Operates and maintains all food serviceequipment in a safe manner.
