Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as aQuality Assurance Programs Managerto join our team located in Carlsbad, NM.

The successful candidate will direct Quality Assurance Program activities for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) mission, including the Central Characterization Project (CCP). Responsible for the supplier quality oversight program, internal and external audit and surveillance program, and QA review of procedures and procurement documents. Responsible for verifying statutory, contract, and programmatic compliance. Plan for and coordinate resources to support CCP quality assurance field work at DOE host sites and Project Office in accordance with programmatic and regulatory drivers. Direct review of WIPP and CCP program documents and procedures to ensure compliance with Quality Assurance Program Documents. Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in interfacing with internal and external parties (CBFO, EM, NMED, and EPA) to provide information, support, and advice; and to coordinate and optimize risk and compliance based independent oversight strategies and schedules.

Exempt Salary Grade (36-38)

  • Bachelor-s degree in related field with ten (10) years related experience, or

  • Associate's degree with fourteen (14) years related experience, or

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency with eighteen (18) years related experience is required.

Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Minimum salary $128,071 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate-s relevant experience and education.
