Job Summary:

The IT Support Specialist provides technical support to staff at Carlsbad Lifehouse, ensuring systems, devices, and software operate efficiently across the facility. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting IT issues, assisting with system and software installations, managing user accounts, ensuring data security, and supporting basic network maintenance. This role is ideal for someone with foundational IT skills who is looking to contribute to the success of a mental health facility.

Pay:

From $22.00 per hour

Expected hours:

40 per week

Duties and Responsibilities

:

  • Provide daily technical support to staff, resolving issues with hardware, software, network connectivity, and desktop support for workstations, peripherals, and software.
  • Respond to IT support requests and troubleshoot issues for timely resolution.
  • Assist in the setup, installation, and maintenance of computer systems, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure proper functionality across the facility.
  • Support staff in using clinical and administrative software and assist with updates or troubleshooting.
  • Implement basic security protocols to protect sensitive data and support routine data backups.
  • Help manage user accounts and permissions and ensure appropriate access to systems.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of security camera systems, ensuring proper operation and access control.
  • Provide IT training to staff on new systems and best practices for data security.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and other departments to address IT needs and improve infrastructure

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college-level coursework in IT or computer science preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in IT support or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working with computer systems, hardware, and troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic troubleshooting techniques.
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts and software installations.
  • Experience with data security and privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical staff.
  • A strong sense of teamwork and the ability to collaborate effectively.
