Position Overview: As a Community Education Specialist, you will play a vital role in educating the general community and key stakeholders on Lifehouse services, and implementing Mental Health First Aid. This position offers a unique opportunity to:

  • Educate the Community and Stakeholders: Deliver informative sessions and training on Lifehouse services and Mental Health First Aid to various community groups and key stakeholders.
  • Building Community Partnerships: Establish and maintain relationships with local organizations, schools, and community groups to foster collaboration and expand the reach of Lifehouse's educational initiatives.
  • Coordinating Community Outreach Events: Plan and participate in community events, health fairs, and other outreach activities to raise awareness about mental health and Lifehouse's services.
  • Providing Training and Support: Train community members, volunteers, and stakeholders in Mental Health First Aid and other relevant programs to equip them with the skills needed to support individuals with mental health challenges.
  • Advocating for Mental Health Awareness: Advocate for mental health awareness and de-stigmatization through public speaking engagements, social media campaigns, and community involvement.
  • Tracking and Reporting: Maintain records of educational activities and outreach efforts, preparing reports to demonstrate the impact and reach of Lifehouse's educational programs.

You are a great fit for this role if you:

  • Hold a CPSW or CHW certification.
  • Have a strong understanding of community education and relationship building.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with individuals in crisis and their families.

  • Are a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.?
