Position Title: Outpatient Children's Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Job Summary: The Outpatient Children's Clinician provides therapeutic services to children and adolescents in an outpatient setting. They assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of mental health concerns and emotional difficulties faced by young clients. The Clinician works collaboratively with families, caregivers, and other professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to each child's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate children's emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure holistic treatment approaches.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in accordance with clinical diagnoses and client goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Educate clients, families, and caregivers about mental health issues, coping strategies, and available resources.
  • Participate in regular supervision, consultation, and professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards of practice set forth by relevant licensing boards and regulatory bodies.
  • Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in the field of child and adolescent mental health.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) equivalent in the state of practice.
  • Specialized training or experience in child and adolescent mental health counseling.
  • Knowledge of developmental theories, psychopathology, and therapeutic interventions applicable to children and adolescents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with diverse clients and families.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an outpatient or community mental health setting.
  • Certification or additional training in play therapy, trauma-informed care, or other specialized interventions for children and adolescents.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to issues of diversity and inclusion.

Working Conditions: The Outpatient Children's LPCC typically works in a clinical office or mental health center. This may involve regular interaction with clients, families, and colleagues in both individual and group settings. The role may also involve occasional travel for trainings, meetings, or outreach activities.
