Job Summary:

Carlsbad Lifehouse, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team in providing assistance to individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in offering support, guidance, and encouragement to clients within our various programs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and progress towards recovery.

Salary:$40,000 - $42,000 per year

Qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • A Community Support Worker (CSW) must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A CSW must also either hold a bachelors degree in a human services field from an accredited university and have one year of relevant experience with the target population, or
  • Hold an associates degree and a minimum of two years of experience working with the target population, or
  • Hold an associates degree in approved curriculum in behavioral health coaching; no experience necessary, or
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum of three years of experience working with the target population, or hold a certification from the New Mexico credentialing board for behavioral health professionals as a Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) or as a Certified Peer Family Specialist (CPFS).

Minimum staff qualifications for Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW):

  • Shall be a minimum of 18 years of age;
  • Shall have a minimum of high school diploma or GED;
  • Shall be self-identified as a current or former consumer of mental health or substance abuse services and have at least one year of mental health or substance abuse recovery; and LifeHouse
  • Shall have received certification as CPS.

Minimum staff qualifications for Certified Family Support Worker (CFSW):

  • Shall be a minimum of 18 years of age;
  • Shall have a minimum of high school diploma or GED;
  • Shall have received certification as a CFS.
  • Have personal experience navigating any of the child/family-servicing systems or advocating for family members who are involved with the child/family behavioral health systems.
  • CFSW shall have personal experience navigating any of the child-family serving systems or advocating for family members who are involved with the behavioral health systems; shall have an understanding of how these systems operate in New Mexico;
  • If the individual is a current or former consumer, he shall be well-grounded in his symptom self-management; and
  • A CFSW must have received certification as a CFSW or (h) CPSW with a family support specialty.

Screening Duties:

Complete phone screenings as scheduled.

Complete thorough and accurate documentation of client answers on the screening documentation.

Participate in morning meetings as scheduled.

Assist admissions coordinator in determining appropriateness of fit for potential clients.

Answering and assisting with phone calls in a professional manner.
