What Will You Do?

To build and deliver innovative data solutions and capabilities enabling our business colleagues to access meaningful insights from extensive diverse data repositories. To support better business decisions making and more efficient paths to achieving business goals and objectives. You will drive and implement a data strategy across various strategic data platforms and Business Units in the Biosciences Division including data integration, transformation and reporting services to key business leaders. You will work within a matrixed environment of resources across Thermo Fisher IT to lead and strengthen a team that will enable the use of enterprise data as a strategic asset and improve decision support and analytics capabilities. You will use data science and machine learning techniques to develop insight and predictive modeling to add business value. You will partner with business colleagues and data engineering teams to help define and prioritize business data needs and develop valuable data solutions. The candidate must understand business process, issues/problems and offer appropriate data solutions. You will have responsibly for data acquisition, analytics development, and enable business consumption for Commercial, Marketing, Manufacturing, Distribution, & R&D Operations. We are looking for self-motivated leader with vision who prefers a hands-on approach to data analysis and information syndication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with business partners and data engineers and scientists to build and implement new data solutions and products.

  • Works directly with Business Partners to deliver business value through the implementation of data products, reports and dashboards.

  • Use data lakes to proactively measure investment opportunities

  • Use Knowledge Graphs to encode semantic relationships among data entities.

  • Extracting meaningful structure from unstructured content with NLP and other tools

  • Drives and implements change and continuous improvement with data driven insights.

How Will You Get Here?

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in engineering, data science or mathematics

  • Proven track record in business intelligence, analytics and data management

  • Expertise in building and handling enterprise-level data integration and data transformation solutions

  • Cloud experience (AWS preferred)

  • Experience with data consumption platforms such as Power BI or Tableau

  • Proven background using data warehouse and datamart schema

  • Focus on data-driven continuous quality improvement and driving change

  • Hands-on management style with the ability mentor and inspire others

  • Experience leading teams in matrixed environments

  • Good interpersonal skills to optimally communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
