Your day at NTT DATA

The Software Applications Development Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining software enhancements and new systems in local, on-prem, or cloud-based. This role involves writing code using current programming languages and technologies and performing extensive testing and debugging of applications. The engineer will also be responsible to document the development and keep track on updates of the same. Interaction with internal/external stakeholders to define system requirements and necessary modifications is a key aspect of this position.

What you'll be doing

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop applications that effectively accomplish client objectives and user needs.

• Design and write code for applications and maintain databases when required.

• Analyze and maintain existing software applications to improve and optimize functionality, fix problems.

• Optimize applications to improve performance.

• Identify specific customer and client needs and preferences related to the application.

• Test applications extensively to ensure they are error and bug-free.

• Install/deploy applications and act as a technical advisor.

• Interact with relevant internal technical stakeholders to obtain information on project limitations, performance requirements, and enhance security.

• Produce software documentation following company processes and templates.

• Participate in software product review meetings and team meetings.

• Broad understanding of computer science, with specific knowledge of computer programming, application design, and user-focused features.

• Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

• Good team players, maintaining integrity and displaying good attention to detail.

• Ability to understand and analyze complex systems.

• Strong knowledge of the software development process.

• Strong knowledge of agile development methodologies such as Scrum.

• Knowledge of software integrated development environments (VSCode, etc.).

• Demonstrated analytical, organizational skills, using relevant information to make timely and critical decisions that affect cross-functional teams.

• Ability to handle client and customer issues tactfully and professionally.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

• Master’s degree in software engineering.

• Relevant certifications: AWS, Azure, Kubernetes

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of Software Applications Engineering and Design experience.

• Strong experience with backend programming languages like Node.js, TypeScript, Java, Python, C, GO.

• Strong experience with cloud platforms mainly Microsoft Azure and AWS.

• Strong experience in Kubernetes and Containerization.

• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Experience in Data Management and Analytics: QuickSight, Athena, Microsoft Power BI, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure HDInsight, Azure DataLake Storage, Azure ADF, Databricks, DataFactory.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code: CDK, CloudFormation, SAML, Azure Bicep, Azure ARM, Terraform.

• Experience with CI/CD: Azure DevOps, GitLab, AWS CodePipeline, AWS CodeBuild, AWS CodeDeploy.

• Proven experience working in an Agile environment.

• Familiarity with Grafana.

• Knowledge of Gaia-X framework (GXFS, compliance, federation, data exchange, Trust framework).

• Good knowledge of data spaces concepts, services, and implementation techniques.

• Experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
