Your day at NTT DATA

The Product Manager is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary development team during projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for gaps in customer product offerings and an innovative mindset for filling them. This person should be a highly skilled market analyst with a proven ability to strategize the full lifecycle of a product, from conception to release. We’re looking for a confident leader who can guide cross-functional teams in the creation of products that improve customer experience and grow market share.

Product Manager is an advanced subject matter expert, considered as the content authority, she/he is responsible for multiple strategic high-priority products, able to lead the product development and manage the different products backlogs if needed, and representing the customer to the Agile team. They optimize return on investment by ensuring that the team members are engaged in delivering the most valuable product features.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fully understands the products vision, roadmap and growth opportunities to enable onward articulation into the development team.

  • Plans and prioritizes the different products features backlogs and development for the offers/products.

  • Provides backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories, according to business value or ROI.

  • Provides an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release and iteration goals.

  • Establishes components and features acceptance criteria, accepts the same into the baseline.

  • Follows business competitors and the industry and keeps abreast with Agile/Scrum/SAFe best practices and new trends and seeks to relentlessly improve the team operations.

  • Our Product Manage will also lead the different projects governances, control the budgets of the same and she/he will provide project leadership to resolve customer escalations if required. Ensuring clear and concise communications to all stakeholders.

  • Provides pre-sales support by working with sales teams to scope and cost a project or program solution which includes the completion of a proposal. This may include Client presentations of our delivery approach as part of a tender process.

  • May indirectly manage a team of project managers and implementation resources. Provides guidance, mentorship, and supports team to achieve required results.

  • Performs any other related task as required.

Knowledge and Attributes:

  • Advanced knowledge of product development in an ITC industry.

  • Advanced knowledge of modern software development technologies and best practices and its application/operation.

  • Advanced understanding of iterative development.

  • Powerful communication aptitude, with an innate ability to say “no” in a way that will not discourage or upset the business.

  • Effective conflict resolution skills

  • Considerable ability to empower teams – through strong collaboration and knowledge brokering.

  • Ability to enable value creation and ensure value commitments to delivery are met.

  • Advanced understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition.

  • Ability to relate to and integrate with alternate development methodologies (for example, waterfall).

  • Be conversant in DevOps practices and understand strong relationship and bi-directional dependency required with deployment teams.

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred.

  • Advantageous certifications – from technology providers like Google, AWS, Microsoft

  • Advantageous certifications - SAFe Product Owner / Product Manager Certification, SAFe Scrum Master, SAFe for Teams, SAFe DevOps, Professional scrum product owner (PSPO) or certified scrum product owner (CSPO), Program Management Professional (PgMP).

  • ITIL Service Management certification will be a plus.

Required Experience:

  • Advanced experience in Product Management and Project Management. At least 10 years' experience in similar role within a large scale (preferably multi- national) technology services environment.

  • Successful track record in building IT Business Oriented solutions.

  • Advanced experience working in Agile approaches such as XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD.

  • Advanced experience managing multiple teams and product roadmaps.
