Context:

Cloud transformation uses modern digital technologies, including all types of public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms, to create or modify business processes, culture, and customer experiences to meet changing business and market dynamics.

It is a key enabler of digital transformation, empowering organizations to modernize their IT infrastructure, enhance agility, and drive innovation.

With the recent changes in the licensing model of VMware by Broadcom, the market is changing, and enterprises could decide to move their infrastructure from VMware to Nutanix.

Topic:

During this internship, the goal is to study the migration of an infrastructure from VMware to Nutanix. It includes the comparison and testing of the different Nutanix products, on premises and cloud based. Then the migration process must be tested and validated.

A hybrid scenario has also to be considered with workload distributed between on-premises and a cloud environment.

All common workload types will be considered in the project in order to cover any business request.

Your role consists in:

• Discover Nutanix products

• Evaluate the Nutanix products to define the structure of the new hybrid platform, supporting multiple kind of workloads

• Deploy the new infrastructure accordingly to the new defined structure

• Elaborate a migration plan of the infrastructure

• Test and perform the migration of the workloads

• Monitor the new infrastructure

• Document the project

You will be part of the "Cloud Transformation Practice" global team, composed of experienced Cloud and Infrastructure engineers either deploying technical solution and services on customer premises (Technical Services team), or managing client infrastructures hosted on shared platforms (Managed Services team).

During the internship, you will receive the support of a senior engineer as well as the team leader to guide you while defining the approach and milestones. You will also have the opportunity to participate in all the team meetings and activities, which will enable you to be immersed in the professional world and to be faced with day-to-day challenges encountered in the work environment.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

• 2nd year of a BTS degree or similar

• Familiar with traditional virtualization and networking standards and concepts

• Strong interest in global technology, cloud computing andautomation in particular

• Having knowledge of scripting language (e.g. PowerShell...) would be considered as an asset

• Fluency in spoken and written in English is mandatory, and additional languages will be an asset

• Demonstrating problem solving and critical thinking skills

• Be capable of working both independently and as part of a fast- moving team

• Having a relevant work experience (e.g. internships, summerpositions, school jobs, or first work experience) would be considered as an asset
