Mukuru Market Developer (Insurance) in Cape Town, South Africa

As our maestro of Market/Product Development, you'll be the driving force behind our Insurance strategy, unearthing fresh biz prospects and supercharging our existing ventures. Your gig? Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
Drive market penetration of the Insurance business to deliver the budgeted targets for assigned markets and ensuring operational excellence
Lead the acquisition of new customers, improve the retention of our existing customers and increasing the usage of our products by:
Being the Wallet & VAS champion for your assigned markets to gain share of mind and coordinate business activity in support of the Wallet & VAS strategy
Developing the customer proposition strategy that is relevant and valuable to our markets
Collaborating with sales and marketing teams to achieve communication, brand, awareness and customer acquisition objectives
Overseeing and improving our distribution channels
Ensure the Wallet & VAS business is running smoothly by working with the Operations, Customer Service, Product and other functions.
Oversee the successful implementation of plans in conjunction with other departments
Manage the projects in line with the specified project plan
Provide guidance and direction to project team members during the project
Coordinate the project team's activities and prioritize activities within projects
Track the progress of all tasks related to the projects on a daily basis
Identify any areas that are running behind schedule and address with the relevant stakeholder
Identify where additional support or assistance may be required to ensure project timelines are met
Ensure the project plans include targets and measures, resource requirements and planned activities
To identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the company
Identify opportunities to expand product and services range offered
Ensure opportunities are strategically and legally viable
Present business case for opportunity for approval
If approved:
Make contacts in order to develop prospects and leads with various potential partners
Negotiate with potential partners in order to obtain mutually beneficial signed contracts
Implement the opportunity independently, or by working with a Project Manager
Assist in the budgeting process, pricing, and partner management.
Assist the Market Development Manager with:
Developing the budgets and reporting on market performance
Conducting pricing reviews
Partner negotiations, commercial discussions and managing the ongoing relationships.
Understand the market dynamics to enable decision making
Keep abreast the current future market trends and industry changes
Identify competitors and keep up to date on their business models (e.g. suppliers, platforms, pricing, product offerings, customer retention strategies, etc)
Manage own professional and self-development
Attend weekly KPI meeting with Manager
Attend monthly performance meeting with Manager
Attend all required training courses for new products
Key Requirements:
Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
Related Tertiary Qualification (Essential)
2 Years of work experience
RE1 and RE5 qualifications (advantageous)
Experience in a business development role
Experience in Financial Services
Knowledge of payments and remittances
Knowledge the marketing and sales process (B2C & C2C).
Knowledge of contracts and commercial agreements
Knowledge of operating license requirements
