SAOTA Graphic Designer in Remote, South Africa

We are seeking a talented and experienced Graphic Designer to join our dynamic team, providing critical support to the Graphic Design Supervisor and Head of Marketing. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with project teams, directors, and external stakeholders to create exceptional visual materials that elevate our brand across both print and digital platforms. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management & Quality Control:
  • Ensure consistent quality across all designs and deliverables.

  • Manage multiple projects, providing regular reports on progress and outputs.

  • Work with stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met, and client expectations are managed effectively.

  • Maintain a structured document management system, ensuring proper filing and organization of all project-related materials.

  • Stay updated on the latest design trends, tools, and architectural developments.

  • Mentor and guide junior designers, interns, and freelancers.

  1. Brand Collateral Creation:
  • Edit, resize, and retouch images using Photoshop and Lightroom.

  • Contribute to the development and updating of brand guidelines across multiple brands.

  • Design and oversee the production of various marketing collateral such as brochures, books, and presentations.

  • Update and design web content following best practices in web standards and technology.

  • Oversee the production of both digital and print stationery.

  • Provide video editing support for internal and external communications using tools like Premiere Pro and After Effects.

  1. Media Publicity & Social Media:
  • Design professional press packs for media distribution and layout advertisements for magazine features.

  • Manage the design and production of social media content across various platforms, ensuring brand consistency.

  1. Public Engagement & Direct Marketing:
  • Assist the marketing team with award entries and the design of collateral for exhibitions and speaker events.

  • Design and send digital newsletters using Mailchimp, following the marketing team's briefs.

  1. Internal Communications:
  • Design collateral for internal company activities, events, and communication efforts, ensuring they align with the company's visual identity.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Graphic Design or a related field.

  • 7-10 years of design experience in an in-house creative environment, design firm, or agency.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Creative problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a quick learner.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Proficiency in repro and retouching, with an understanding of different file formats and the production process.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and manage relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.

  • Able to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Bonus Skills (Advantageous):

  • 3D rendering capabilities.

  • Web design and development knowledge (HTML5, CSS3, PHP, JQuery, JavaScript, WordPress, Drupal).

  • SEO and Google Analytics expertise.

  • Proficiency in additional languages.

  • Working knowledge of CAD, Revit.
