Position Purpose: Ensures the stable operation of the company's key computer equipment including planning, development, integration and support of network & server hardware and software. Analyze and resolve hardware, software, network, and phone problems. Performs other duties and projects assigned by supervisor. Essential Functions: 1. Technical lead for the installation, configuration, upgrades, and maintenance of personal computers, laptops, servers, networks, network cabling, and other related equipment, devices, and systems. Additionally, configure all peripheral devices such as printers, copiers and related equipment. 2. Project lead in planning and implementing network security including building & administering firewalls, implementing encryption technologies, managing host security, backup and disaster recovery plans, assigning file permissions, file system integrity, and oversight on account administration as it pertains to adding, changing and deleting users. 3. Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties. 4. Ensure industry best practice conventions for IT security are implemented and supported. 5. Maintain confidentiality regarding the information being processed, stored or accessed by the users and administrators access the computer systems and networks. 6. Perform capacity management by identifying utilization patterns and their effect on operation/system availability and performance expectations, as well as forecasts for future equipment acquisitions and upgrades. 7. Anticipate communication and networking problems and implement preventative measures. 8. Establish and perform maintenance programs following company and industry standards, including the creation and distribution of patches and security updates to all systems and applications. 9. Investigate, recommend and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimize network efficiency. 10. Ensure timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability. 11. Perform and oversee software installations and upgrades. 12. Ensure that workstation configuration complies with established policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines. 13. Recommend company purchase of computers, hardware, peripheral equipment, and software. 14. Investigate user problems, determine possible resolution, test and implement solutions. 15. Prepare and maintain documentation related to security, hardware and software systems. 16. Provide leadership and direction to other team members in the areas of project management, problem resolution and operational support, as designated by management. 17. Escalation support for all company systems to include, but is not limited to, email systems, application and system monitoring, middleware, file and print servers and application servers. 18. Audit databases containing workstation inventory information, IP address assignment information, software distribution tracking, and related technologies. 19. Maintain I.T.-support knowledge base. 20. Coordinate vendor services such as hardware repair, printer repair and product warranty. 21. Assist personnel of other departments as an IT resource. 22. Provide on-the-job training to new department staff members. 23. Collaborate with Corporate IT on support efforts and roll out of enterprise-wide IT technology.
