Req# 28752 Aultman Health Foundation, CANTON, OH Aultman College Aultman Health Foundation Full Time, Day Shift, 8 - 4:30p AULTMAN COLLEGE OF NURSING AND HEALTH SCIENCES POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE(S): Student Success Advisor DATE: December 14, 2023 DIVISION: Student Success REPORTS: Dean of Student Success CLASSIFICATION: Staff SUPERVISES: N/A PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES (SUMMARY) The Student Success Advisor reports to the Dean of Student Success. The Student Success Advisor will help assess, organize, and support college-wide advising and retention efforts. The Student Success Advisor will build relationships with enrolled students from census day through program completion. The Student Success Advisor will also be responsible for retaining new and continuing students, in course selection and curriculum planning, monitoring student progression toward degree completion, and collaborating with the Registrar's Office on issues that arise in advising and registration. They will communicate regularly with students to check in and identify any barriers and connect them with campus resources to facilitate success. The Student Success Advisor will also plan, implement, and evaluate policies related to advising and retention. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, master's degree preferred. Experience in a related area (enrollment services, admissions, advising, recruiting, etc.) preferred. Student-centered approach to service, program development, and problem-solving. Ability to establish and assess outcomes for advising services. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in writing and in person with a variety of constituencies. Contribution to team effort in support of college and division goals. Availability for early morning, evening or weekend hours as needed. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer relationship management and student information systems. Basic working knowledge of financial aid processes. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, managers, and customers. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and execute multiple priorities. Ability to function effectively with minimal supervision. Establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public. Know all degree requirements. Know courses and career options for all programs. Strong critical thinking and process analysis skills. Know all available campus resources. Above average computer literacy. Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate awareness of audience needs. Mature interpersonal skills to work harmoniously, cooperatively, and collaboratively with Stakeholders. 12. Flexibility with the work schedule, which may include evenings and weekends as needed. PERFORMANCE MEASURES AND STANDARDS Advise new and continuing students in all college programs. Promote academic progress and degree completion. Provide assistance to students making decisions on program and career opportunities. Conduct individual and group advising sessions. Collaborate with the student support team to ensure that new student orientation programs are effective and meaningful. Participates in orientation activities. Collaborate with the Office of the Registrar to ensure that new student registration sessions are well organized and efficient. Collaborate with the retention team to identify barriers for individual student success and plan for interventions as appropriate. Collaborate with academics to develop processes to utilize retention software to identify, communicate and work with students who are struggling.
