The Opportunity:
The Technical Operations Manager is responsible for leading the technical delivery of client ICT requirements to ensure that systems and networks are running smoothly. This includes building and leading a team of ICT professionals, and providing guidance and support to ensure that existing KBR clients are supported. The Technical Operations Manager is expected to understand KBR’s business needs and to work closely with other stakeholders (both clients and other contracted agencies) to ensure a consistent delivery of service in alignment with relevant Service and Operational Level Agreements.
The Technical Operations Manager will work closely with the leadership within the Mission IT and Security Solutions reporting directly to the Program Manager - Strategic Systems to ensure that customers’ technical requirements are understood by KBR. The Technical Operations Manager will collaborate with technology vendors and service providers to ensure that the clients technology needs are met, and that policies, procedures, and processes are updated to improve operations efficiency.
The role requires a high degree of autonomy and a collaborative approach to working in a team to develop solutions that will ultimately promote growth and capability development in the Mission IT and Security Solutions line of business.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for the technical delivery of Service Operations across several government networks of varying size and classification
Building and developing a KBR technical workforce for the provision of help desk requirements across Australia
Liaising with delivery teams to determine solution execution and implementation approaches, risks and mitigations
Assess system performance and recommend improvements to the Program Manager – Strategic Systems
Provide updates to stakeholders on issues rectification where an ICT incident occurs, including the provision of services required to be delivered on a 24/7 basis
Continually research current and emerging technologies and assess the business impact of technical choices when making recommendations
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential:
Experience working with government ICT products, services and programs
Proven work experience as an Operations Manager or similar role
Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills
Technical proficiency and knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and systems
NV1 Security clearance (with the ability to upgrade to NV2)
Desirable:
Previous project management experience is advantageous
In-depth understanding of coding languages,
Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science is preferred
Demonstrated history of implementation of Continuous Service Improvements
