DevOps Engineers

As a DevOps Engineer, you will take responsibility for ensuring the platform and applications owned by the Digital Identity are operated and maintained efficiently and proactively; and working with the team to design and implement incremental changes to the workloads and cloud infrastructure. This includes working with ITSM and Cyber Security Teams to ensure services required of other teams are maintained and the deployment of applications meets with compliance requirements.

What you will do

  • Working in a small, specialised team; demonstrate a willingness to contribute to and learn from the collective skillsets of other developers and team members.

  • Proactive management and operation of deployed workloads, monitoring, patch management, backup management, management of expiring resources (certificates, system credentials etc.) in a timely manner.

  • Deploy workloads to production in line with change & release management.

  • 2nd/3rd tier support on a on call roster and support critical incidents.

  • Continuous improvement of CI/CD and monitoring tools

  • Collaborate with team members on design, testing and implementation of enhancements and modifications to workloads and infrastructure supporting business objectives.

  • Maintain operational documentation.

  • Work with Product Support teams to develop and deliver technical and implementation resources and support for vendors, health jurisdictions and other customers.

  • Follow all Agency policies, procedures and instructions and take reasonable care for your own health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace.

About you

  • You must be an Australian Citizen and have a current active baseline clearance

  • You have strong experience working collaboratively with Scrum Masters, Delivery Leads, Release Leads, Release Train Engineer, Tech Leads, Test Leads, Architects, System Analysts, other Developers, Management, and Stakeholders as a Senior Developer to see through products from inception to production and to BAU (Business as Usual).

  • Experience working in an Agile Project Delivery Team

  • Be a strong confident communicator via different communication channels at all levels.

  • Be a networker who can develop and maintain networks both internally and externally and across all levels.

  • Have a continuous improvement mindset where you research and develop enhancements to processes and workplace practices.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge and experience in system architecture and microservice design patterns

  • Automation highly desirable

  • Managing and operating public facing production AWS hosted applications

  • Extensive Experience in PowerShell scripting and ability to automate working processes.

  • Experience in Microsoft technologies (.NET, C#, SQL server, Windows 2012 or similar)

  • Design and set-up AWS, Azure based cloud infrastructure (IaaS) to support project delivery

  • Develop environment automation to enable DevOps based continuous delivery. Create systems, utilities, and scripts to automate deployment. Actively work to automate deployments

  • Experience in software development life cycle to enable DevOps processes.

  • Experience in application and infrastructure monitoring setup and developing dashboard.

  • Experience in working in agile and ITIL framework

  • Experience in handling high severity incidents in a 24*7 production support environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop system documentation

  • Confluence and MS TFS
