Job Description

The Process Specialist role is responsible for the set-up and operation of the workstation and the equipment. The employee must also monitor the product's process and quality and make necessary corrections to it to maintain a steady flow of quality products to the customer.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and operate meters and gauges.
  • Direct and monitor process of refurbished tank flaring.
  • Read, interpret, and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products.
  • Utilize handheld tools such as handheld screw guns, drill guns, and grinders.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures and rates.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Operation of lifting devices as needed.
  • Looks for opportunity to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.
  • Follow all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
  • Read, understand, and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
  • Shut down process if unsafe while following proper machine shutdown procedures.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, tape measures, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Forklift certification required.
  • Telehandler operator certification required.
  • LOTO Certification is a plus.

  • Be willing to work overtime when required at times due to production demands and availability of material.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. There is a high noise level throughout the plant and hearing protection must always be worn during production. Wearing other proper protective equipment including metatarsal safety shoes and eye protection is always required while in the plant during production. The employee may be exposed to inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, snow, rain, and cold weather.
