Akima Program Analyst (MAD) - Hybrid in Camp Springs, Maryland

Overview

The Program Analyst to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Office of Security and Integrity (OSI) within the Mission Integrity Division (MID). The Program Analyst reports to the RT Program Manager and On-Site Supervisor and provides on-site analytical support services for MID-related projects and initiatives to ensure their compliance with directives, policies, regulations, standards and guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Support analytical data collection or metrics development on facility plans, security, staffing, infrastructure, equipment requirements, training and exercise conduct, operational response and recovery efforts.

  • Provide support in operating various continuity communications equipment (Phone, Satellite Communication (SATCOM), Homeland Secure Data Network (HSDN), Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS), VHF/UHF/HF) to ensure readiness during an actual emergency.

  • Consolidate unclassified and classified support documents and draft responses to requests for information from the Department, Interagency and Joint operational or planning teams.

  • Develop collaboration site(s) in SharePoint to track and report statuses on tasks, assets, training, exercises and support associated with the implementation of Mission Assurance section goals and tasks.

  • Coordinate with various USCIS stakeholders to communicate tasks, track and maintain roles and responsibilities, assess needs, and set expectations regarding internal preparedness and response to Department plans and tasks.

  • Update internal documents, systems and project plans to report the status, metrics and performance of assigned continuity, resilience, training and exercise projects.

  • Assist in providing subject matter expertise to assist OSI in fulfilling its responsibilities for strategic enterprise security management and mission critical USCIS security functions to include Insider threat and Foreign Access Management Programs.

  • Assist project managers in documenting meeting notes, after - action reports, lessons learned and corrective actions.

  • Assist in identifying, researching and documenting key facts related to Insider Threat-related cases, leveraging information from open sources, court documents and internal sources.

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship as required by the contract with ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance eligibility and favorable pre-employment USCIS Entry on Duty (EOD) and Suitability Determinations.

  • Successful completion of drug screening and pre-employment background investigations with results allowing for continued consideration for employment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, related field or professional certification.

  • Minimum three (3) years of work experience relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the position; relevant work experience may be considered as a substitute for degree requirements.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to perform and complete task.

  • Previous experience handling classified information and documentation on a Secret and JWICS classified level.

  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, as well as SharePoint or other collaboration software.

  • Demonstrated ability to produce detailed and independent written correspondence in order to communicate operational requirements.

  • Excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to think logically and work effectively within group settings or independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to receive general guidance and instructions from a supervisor or via established standard operating procedures, and act upon them with minimal supervision.
