Position Summary

Manages national parts sales activities, including the achievement of corporate part sales objectives, parts gross profit objectives, and coordinating field efforts in growing the retailer parts and service business.

Major Responsibilities

  • Maintains responsibility for parts sales growth for Subaru of America (SOA) and Independent Distributors. This includes providing input on sales objectives for the field team and retailers, monitoring sales performance to identify opportunities for growth. Oversees the SOA regional parts marketing budgets, including allocating budgets to Regional Parts & Service Managers and reviewing utilization.

  • Serves as direct liaison with SOA field and Independent Distributors on activities relating to parts sales. This includes reviewing and approving downclass/promotion fund expenditures, performing annual scrap of obsolete parts and accessories, resolving parts claims and scrapping of claim parts, and reviewing co-op retailer claims for compliance and payment, etc. spending.

  • Develops and communicates analysis of parts sales performance across multiple channels (internal, field, vendors, retailers, etc.). Develops action plans to address shortfalls and opportunities with consideration of function code category sales such as maintenance, repair, and crash parts along with unique product categories such as tires, oil, batteries, and chemicals.

  • Oversees vendor relationships associated with direct shipment programs including tires, oil, chemicals, batteries, and touch-up paints. Serves as primary contact for field on questions related to these programs. Works with vendors on promotions, marketing, enhancements, communications, and activities.

  • Works cross-functionally with Service & Quality, Aftersales Supply Chain, Parts & Accessory Pricing, and other teams on developmental and operational aspects of programs.

  • Oversees activities related to growing wholesale parts sales, including vendor relationships, multiple price-matching programs, Collision Center Certification initiative, B2B business strategy, and client communication and program budgets.

  • Supervises counterfeit brand protection programs and involves working with other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Law Enforcement agencies.

    Additional Responsibilities

  • Manages Fixed Operations Department interns and Management Associates (MAs) during their rotation in SOA Fixed Operations. Ensures that both have a well-rounded experience in the Fixed Operations Department including special projects along with orientation and exposure to all key department managers.  

  • Supports meeting activities related to National Training Conference, National Business Meeting, etc.

Required Skills and Personal Qualifications

  • Understanding of economic drivers and processes of retailer Parts and Service Operations.

  • Experience with budgeting and expense tracking.

  • Ability to professionally communicate with all levels of employees in the organization and outside vendors.

  • Strong negotiation skills with contracts, business partners/vendors, and distributors.

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and to prioritize projects.

  • Excellent analytical and strategic planning skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills throughout all levels of the business.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

  • General mechanical knowledge or experience is preferred.

Education/Experience Requirements: BA/BS with 10 to 12 years of relevant experience

Work Environment

  • Required Travel: 15%-20%

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Compensation: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $11500- $159200 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
