JOB SUMMARY: TDM Farms,the hog production division ofHog Slat, Incorporated,is seeking a dynamic individual with previous Feed Mill experience, to fill the role of ourFeed Mill Manager.The primary responsibilities of this role will be to coordinate and manage the overall feed mill operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

• Establishes relationships and interacts with grain producers to purchase grains and corn
• Produces and delivers high quality feed efficiently while controlling the cost per ton produced and delivered
• Helps maintain compliance with all regulating agencies including FDA, OSHA, Indiana state chemist
• Determines correct formulas and drug levels for daily production of feed by close relationship with Manager of Nutritional Services
• Supervises and coordinates the activities of mill and deliveries
• Keeps accurate records on mill production
• Maintains good quality control program by accurate sampling procedures
• Reviews cost records and performance data to analyze the effectiveness of milling and delivery practices
• Directs quality maintenance program for equipment and vehicles
• Coordinates raw materials delivery with appropriate people
• Responsible for ingredient purchasing and inventory management
• Formulates and applies an effective safety program in manufacturing and delivery
• Works closely with the hog production company (TDM Farms)
• Coordinates the flow of information to the division accounting department
• Works closely with vendors, transportation companies and regulatory agencies as required
• Lead a team of 15 employees. This includes 8 drivers and 7 mill employees.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: The best candidates for theFeed Mill Managerposition at Hog Slat will have all of the following previous experiences.

• Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years operational experience in milling and purchasing of materials.
• Knowledge of the grain market and a basic understanding of swine production.
• Ability to communicate effectively with farmers
• Ability to use critical thinking and judgment skills to reach the best possible solution to a problem
• Demonstrate experience or desire to facilitate, encourage, coach and lead a team to reach set goals
• Must have a valid drivers license and clean motor vehicle record
