Job Description
TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE II, Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE)-Solar Research Center (ADDEPT) (https://news.mit.edu/2023/moving-perovskite-advancements-lab-manufacturing-floor-0420) , to set up and maintain equipment crucial to the perovskite module process flow, establish baseline performance and durability standards, and ensure efficient facility usage by both external industry partners and MIT-internal users. Will play a critical part in maintaining and improving standard operating procedures (SOPs) for a baseline perovskite module fabrication process and using that process to test and scale up novel concepts generated by the university partners and others; and be instrumental in translating research concepts into scalable technologies and enhancing data management practices within the center. Responsibilities include setting up, validating, and creating SOPs for a baseline process to produce and test semi-transparent perovskite modules manufactured using coating techniques; equipment maintenance and repair; collaborating with vendors to establish purchase orders and acquire equipment; unit testing; monitoring and improving sample throughput; documenting the entire process flow and developing and maintaining SOPs; participating in advisory meetings with postdocs and principal investigators to decide which promising university technologies to scale up; assisting industry partners with translating successful research technologies into industry-relevant processes; and data management.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's in materials science, engineering, or related STEM field; four years’ experience in a relevant field (may include experience gained as an undergraduate); experience with laboratory equipment setup, maintenance, and SOP development; strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with external industry partners and internal stakeholders; and ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced research environment. PREFERRED: Experience in the field of perovskite solar cells or related materials, and proficiency with data management and database systems. Job #23223
