Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Description

We are seeking a Part Time Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in the non-profit sector based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

This position is 20-30 hours a week with 2 days (Tue. & Thur) required on site. Hours can be flexible, free parking and easily accessible by mbta.

This is for a leave of absence from October- March.

As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing workflow, processing invoices, and maintaining accurate vendor records. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity in a mostly remote setting, with occasional on-site visits for specific tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Processing invoices including verification of GL coding and syncing information

• Overseeing the accounts payable email inbox and responding to queries

• Processing deposits when required and ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded

• Managing the workflow of contracts through DocuSign, including approval and uploading of vendor contracts

• Maintaining accurate records of customer credit applications

• Correcting invoices when necessary, particularly for international vendors where dates may be presented differently

• Ensuring program coding is accurate and updating when necessary

• Executing reconciliation tasks

• Managing the uploading of bills into bill.com

• Overseeing contracts workflow through DocuSign, including proofreading and filing to SharePoint

• Utilizing skills in Account Coding, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Auditing, and bill.com.

Requirements • Proficiency in account coding and general accounting functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) processes and systems

• Familiarity with auditing principles and practices

• Proficiency in using bill.com software for accounting tasks

• Experience with bank deposit procedures

• Ability to work in a non-profit environment

• Ability to work collaboratively with a team

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred

• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion

• Experience with financial software and databases

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
