What we’re looking For

Are you passionate about problem solving? Do you possess a solid grasp of geometry with an ability to visualize shapes in 3D? Are you keen to work directly with customers to resolve problems and explore requirements? Whether you are a graduate or entry/mid level engineer – we’d love to hear from you!

We’re hiring a QA Engineer to join our collaborative and innovative Quality and Release team here at Parasolid (part of Siemens Digital Industries Software) specialising in providing software components to support all facets of the manufacturing industry.

Parasolid is a 3D modelling toolkit used in hundreds of the world’s leading Computer Aided Design, Engineering and Manufacturing applications. Parasolid has been at the cutting edge of 3D design for over 30 years, with a wide range of technology leaders and household names, such as Apple, SpaceX, Red Bull F1, Lego, Canon, and Dyson, designing their products on systems powered by Parasolid. With over 5 million engineers and designers using Parasolid-based applications daily, you are rarely more than a meter away from a product designed with Parasolid geometry.

What you’ll be doing

While this role sits within the Quality Assurance team, it’s not the traditional tester role of writing tests to exercise the application. This is rare opportunity to work in a friendly team supporting the development team. You will provide technical support and in-depth implementation advice to help our developers build some of the most exciting applications in the world.

A typical week might look like:

Monday: assisting in reviewing a subset of the 8.5 million tests that have run over the weekend.

Tuesday: carrying out the initial review for this weeks release

Wednesday: providing debug information to the developers to aid their resolving issues raised so far

Thursday: maintain and update our extensive test environment

Friday: Final review for this weeks release, closing off raised issues and preparing for next week. Attend weekly Group Seminar

What you’ll bring

  • Experience with database systems, associated languages and tools

  • Proven problem solving skills

  • Good team-working skills, including the ability to produce results individually

  • Experience with a range of Operating Systems (Windows and non-Windows) and an understanding of networked/distributed systems

  • A reliable eye for detail

  • Great communication and collaboration skills

Nice if you have

  • A good understanding of the software development lifecycle with particular emphasis on quality and testing methodologies

  • Experience with web-based technologies (HTML/XML/JScript)

  • Experience of programming using C, C++, C# or Python

Location : United Kingdom.
