The edge workload security team has a mission to create a secure platform foundation for consistent Cloud/Edge experiences and support all services and applications running on top of the platform. The team builds platform security capabilities for workload running on K8 platform including authentication, authorization, secret management, and protection with a goal to provide consistent and convenient API experiences for developers

Our team is seeking a Principal Software Engineer Manager to join us and lead a team of engineers in developing and delivering innovative solutions for our customers. You will drive security strategies in collaboration with partner teams to secure services and customer workloads running on Microsoft-managed/supported K8s clusters. Additionally, you will lead the team in releasing critical security solutions to both Microsoft 1P services and Microsoft customers.

  • Lead and grow a team of engineers to deliver secure, scalable and performant solutions while championing a growth mindset, diversity and inclusion.

  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to create a platform technical strategy regarding security architecture and API experiences for the Microsoft-managed/supported K8s clusters.

  • Support the creation of product roadmap for timely release and easy adoption utilizing customer data.

  • Work across different time zones such as US/UK

Qualifications

Required qualifications.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND proficient years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript OR equivalent experience.

  • Deep knowledge about K8 platform including K8 security fundamentals.

  • Experience successfully shipping services.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep people management experiences.

  • Experience with Azure services, including containers (AKS) and AKV, and familiar with Microsoft Entra ID, ARM: Azure Resource Manager and other Azure RBAC

  • Experience in design and build system features.
