The Opportunity ... This opportunity is with JBT’s Fresh Produce Technologies division. We supply products and services to fresh fruit and vegetable packers to ensure these valuable crops arrive in a fresh and appealing condition to the consumer. Process Quality and Improvement: Conduct visits to customer packing plants to observe operations. Identify areas for improvement in product performance and customer processes. Offer advice and guidance to optimize the performance of JBT’s products. Troubleshoot issues and implementing solutions. Proactive Technical Support: Help customers anticipate seasonal trends that may impact their products negatively. Offer solutions to mitigate potential problems. Pesticide Use and Pest Control: Provide advice on pesticide use for decay control of produce. Write pesticide recommendations. Monitor for pesticide resistance and suggest appropriate actions. Training and Compliance: Provide training to customers on various topics related to product usage and optimization. Assist customers with food safety compliance as it pertains to JBT’s product offerings. Collaboration with Sales and R&D Teams: Work closely with Sales team to understand customer needs and feedback. Collaborate with R&D team to introduce new products to commercial use. Provide insights from customer interactions to inform product development and improvement initiatives. Mandatory Requirements: Must hold a California Pest Control Advisor’s license at time of employment or within 6 months of employment. Must maintain valid license at all times through attending courses for CEUs (supported by JBT). Valid Drivers License. A company vehicle will be provided. Intrastate travel will be required, sometimes overnight. Interstate or International travel may be required periodically. Must have good computer skills (able to use email, Microsoft Word & Excel), and math skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills Conscientious and self-motivated; able to work without direct supervision. Must be reliable and a team player. Must be able to read and adhere to procedures and policies. Preferred Requirement: Experience handling chemicals & working w/ postharvest chemical application systems. A basic understanding of agricultural practices (pre and post-harvest) Postharvest and/or citrus related work experience. Fluency in Spanish Knowledge of food safety practices and guidelines. Education: BS or BA in Agriculture, Biology, Horticulture or related scientific field. Preferred: Course work in postharvest physiology and pathology, citrus science or postharvest technology. Physical Requirements: Working 8+ hours per day, up to 7 days per week for extended periods during the processing season Lifting, pushing, pulling maximum weight of 50 lbs. Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, squatting, and stepping up/down from material handling equipment Working in moderate hot, cold, amd/or noisy industrial packinghourse enviorments around moving machinery and chemicals with potential hazards present. PPE is supplied and required to be used. This position is considered a safety sensitive position; thus, employee may be subjected to randomized drug testing. Salary: The estimated annual salary/hourly range for this role is $70,000-95,000 Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
