Administrative Assistant – Permit Center
Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Perform administrative and staff support in a building department
Assist building department staff in tracking of projects, - log in, log out etc
May also perform responsibilities of receptionist and prepare shipping labels
Process permit applications, distribute plan review letters, and issue permits
Calculating Fees
Reviewing Forms for completeness and accuracy
Answer incoming phone calls
Schedule inspection requests
Submit plans for permitting to local municipality
Answer questions and provide information to the public and applicants, regarding building department requirements, regulations, and procedures
Input building/property information into computer system
Perform general administrative duties in support of the office, as assigned
Qualifications & Education
Minimum acceptable education and experience - High School Diploma or equivalent. Three or more years’ experience of prior administrative assistant employment.
Good computer skills and working knowledge of Excel and Word. Deltek knowledge a plus. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks.
