The Machine Shop Technician is responsible for utilizing manufacturing documentation (travelers, blueprints, sketches, etc.) to carry out production tasks, perform 1st piece inspections, and operate various machinery. This role involves setting up machinery, tooling, and fixtures, and ensuring that all production meets quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Production and Inspection: Carry out production tasks and perform 1st piece inspections. Set up and operate machinery, ensuring all materials are readily available. Manufacture products that meet quality requirements. Machine Operation: Set up tooling and fixtures. Operate saws, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, deburring tools, grinders, and other power tools. Ensure all machine procedures comply with strict safety guidelines. Documentation and Analysis: Utilize manufacturing documentation (travelers, blueprints, sketches, etc.) to translate engineering documents into logical processes. Strong ability to analyze detailed part drawings and convert them into measurements for production. Quality Control: Inspect products and process non-conforming materials according to procedures. Meet time and schedule standards for assigned work. Correctly process work through required paperwork and MRP systems. Safety and Maintenance: Maintain a safe and clean workspace. Comply with all safety rules and regulations. Additional Duties: Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management. Required Skills Advanced blueprint reading. Experience with Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL). Preferred Skills Knowledge and experience in at least three or more of the following areas: Routing interpretation. Horizontal Boring. CNC Turning. CNC Milling. Manual Turning. Manual Milling. Layout. COMPENSATION RANGE: $22.00-$28.00 hr. Compensation is determined on experience and skill.
