Job Description

Your Team

As a member of the Housing Division the Production Manager assumes responsibility for the management of Issued for Tender, Building Permit and Issued for Construction drawings projects for the Multifamily division. This position is responsible for managing external consultants through the working drawing process. The Production Manager is responsible for leading the development detailed project drawings, inclusive of review of technical drawings.

    Your Key Deliverables

  • Negotiate, administer, and direct consultants in project planning, design, development, and approvals to ensure project continuity for the division related to all drawings and requirements post DP

  • Manage consultants work loads and drawing schedules to ensure BP drawings are complete and ready for permit applications as determined by the Brookfield starts plan

  • Support Development Team in Building Permit applications through coordinating priorities and responses to Building Permit Comments needed to receive approved permits

  • Collaborate with architect and consultants to develop and ensure completeness of design, drawings and specifications through entire drawing set

  • Complete full and comprehensive review of all drawings to ensure coordination between disciplines and ensure constructability, with attention to construction details and engineering efficiencies

  • Liaise with municipal officials in regards to code, bylaw, or application concerns/questions

  • Ensure building permit comments and past SI’s and RFI’s are incorporated in to IFC drawing sets

  • Work with Project Management team to ensure project document information are accurate and up to date including RFI’s and SI’s

  • Review all Shop Drawings for accuracy related the specifications and for coordination/alignment to the Construction drawings. Provide mark ups of shop drawings as required and follow up to ensure finalized shop drawings will align with the needs of the project.

  • Leads, mentors, and coaches project team and external consultant partners to execute objectives;

  • Lead Consultant meetings during the working drawing stages including documenting and distributing meeting minutes.

  • Keep current on code, bylaw, and industry changes by attending but not limited to industry seminars, information sessions product demonstrations, engineering and PHBIA courses

  • Liaise with Construction department and/or sub trades in regards to questions or concerns with drawings

  • Ensures the use of sound construction practices to attain required quality control at the maximum efficiency and minimum cost; and,

    Must Haves

  • 5-10 years’ experience in construction management, including oversight of multiple low-mid-rise residential projects, or related (e.g. hotel);

  • Ability to complete drawings in AutoCAD amd/or Revit is an asset;

  • Commercial or mixed-use experience is an asset;

  • University or technical school graduate in engineering, construction or architecture and eligible or have attained CET or P.ENG designation;

  • PMP designation is an asset;

  • Ability to read/produce site and building plans and specifications;

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications;

  • Strong ‘hands-on’ manager with good decision making and problem solving skills; and,

  • Excellent communication and team building skills;

  • Flexible and adaptable to rapid change;

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines; and,

  • Valid driver’s license is required.
