Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This position involves operating high-speed machinery on production line. The operator will be responsible for running the plastics machine and ensuring the efficient production of bottles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, start, and run injection equipment.

• Perform minor adjustments to injection equipment as directed.

• Accurately complete and update information forms and logs such as Injection preform and/or cap daily log, destruction logs, and quality forms.

• Recognize unsafe conditions and actions and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operations.

• Maintain quality requirements in accordance with company standards; accurately fill out inspection sheets based on overall production quality and report deficiencies immediately.

• Understand the equipment computer system.

• Comprehend line flow and manufacturing processes to maximize output.

• Communicate issues clearly and concisely.

• Keep work area clean, organized, and free of debris.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• One year of manufacturing experience.

• One year of machine operating experience with high-speed machinery.

• Mechanical ability to learn machine operation.

• 1+ year of sit-down forklift experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Sit-down forklift experience.

• Experience with multiple machines in operation (extrusion, blow, etc.).

• Experience using the same Krones system.

• Forklift experience.

Work Environment

This is a high-speed bottling plant where machinery creates, fills, and sorts bottles. The job involves maintaining the sorting of bottles, monitoring the bottling process, and working with team members. The plant uses a computer program (Krones) to create water bottles for various clients. The environment is very noisy with multiple machines operating at all times, and safety is a high priority. The production process is extremely fast, with 17 water bottles produced in the blow mold machine in one second. The team includes forklift operators, machine operators, quality assurance, and maintenance. The culture values passion, strong work ethic, and effort. The dress code requires steel-toe shoes, a hair net, a beard net, and ear plugs. The position follows a continental shift schedule: 1st Week On (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat, Sun), 2nd Week On (Wed, Thu), with rotations every two weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CALGARY, Alberta.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
