Prep Academy Tutors is a private in-home tutoring company. We deliver flexible and personalized tutoring programs to our students. We specialize in all subject areas and cater to students from age four to twenty. We hire only the best - certified teachers, or those in the process of completing their degree in Education and pay much higher wages than the industry average.
We are currently recruiting for a very specific position; that of homeschool teacher for the 2024-25 school year. The family is homeschooling for their son going in to grade 1. The student is 6 years old and on the autism spectrum. He is verbal, energetic and highly intelligent. He is very creative and artistic so an artistic or creative teacher would be a great fit.
Job Summary
Provide academic instruction to student based on expertise and knowledge based on the Alberta curriculum and inquiry based learning.
Meet all grade 1 curriculum objectives
Communicate with parent for overall planning and to discuss student progress.
Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for teachers who can meet the following criteria:
Energetic and enthusiastic teachers with experience teaching
Committed to providing excellent customer service (to both the student and the client)
Enjoy working with students & families
Great communication skills
Must have reliable transportation – the home is in central Calgary
Experience with special needs children a bonus

Schedule set in advance for the school year:
Classes are set for weekdays mornings and will be 2-3 hours per weekday (M-F)

A qualified applicant must:
Hold a registration in good standing with the Alberta Teacher's Association (or pending).
Show willingness to creatively and flexibly meet curriculum objectives – the client specified they want the student's experience to be play-based and creative
