Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Front Desk Agent (Franchise) in Calgary, Alberta

The franchised Wingate by Wyndham location in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a Front Desk Agent (Franchise) to join its team at the Wingate by Wyndham Calgary Airport.

The Role

A Front Desk Agent plays a critical role in a hotel’s operations, as they are often the first point of contact for guests. Their responsibilities encompass a wide range of duties focused on providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth operations at the front desk.

What you'll do

  • Performs check in and check out

  • Drive the shuttle

  • Take and manage reservations over the phone, via email, and through online booking systems

  • Update the reservation system with accurate guest details, preferences, and special requests

  • Address guest inquiries and provide information about the hotel, local attractions, and services

  • Resolve guest complaints and escalate issues to the appropriate department when necessary

  • Liaise with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to ensure guest needs are met promptly

  • Ensure the safety and security of guests by following hotel procedures for key control and emergency situations

You'll be successful if you have

  • Customer Service Skills: A friendly and approachable attitude, with a commitment to providing exceptional service

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to handle guest issues calmly and efficiently

  • Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hotel reservation software and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)

  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other departments

  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in guest information and transactions

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in hospitality (preferred)

  • Knowledge of hotel operations and reservation systems (a plus)
