Description

Contractors will be working in the production room doing machine operation, packaging, cutting produce, quality checks, grading and lifting. So they will take care of everything from start to finish. Contractor will start by dumping produce on the line that will go to wash station, from their they will grade, cut and operate machine. There are different stations - grading, packaging and then machine operating. Once fruit is packed they will stack the produce on the pallet to ship to customers. They will label the pallets as a color codes which will be used to understand which produce pallet to ship out first. Thus great attention to detail is needed. Contractors will be filling out the production sheets thus strong written communication skills are needed to avoid errors. They will be dealing with product that customer will consume as it is - fresh cut fruits and vegetables, thus there is no room of error and they need to understand food & safety regulations. The cooler they will be working in is around 4 degrees Celsius and is very busy. All contractors must be able to lift 50LBS. Most of the lifting will be around 30 lbs. but they have to match the speed of the machines thus it is fast paced environment. Contractors must have good communication skills as they will be filling in a lot of paperwork and communication with managers.

• Heavy lifting up to 50lbs.

• They will do everything from start to finish: Grading, cutting fruits, operating machine, packaging and stacking

• They will also have to go through Food and safety training thus strong communication skills needed

• Sort and regrade product based on quality and direction as per specifications

• Abide by proper Food Safety protocols prior to handling produce

• Label cases accurately

• Ensure pallets are properly stacked and wrapped as per customer specifications

• Separate and dispose of recyclable and non-recyclable packaging

• Dispose of non-salvageable product into provided bins and empty as required

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Safe heavy lifting up to 35 - 50 lbs consistently

• Fast paced work environment as they need to coordinate with machines pace

• Student mindset- ability to learn new tasks within the first three days of training and then have the confidence to perform without supervision

• Strong attention to detail- Visual inspection of product, accurate counting, applying color coded labels to boxes and pallets properly (straight)
